Biovie has long sought a spirulina provider certified by Ecocert serious and competitive internationally - shipped by sea - with the aim of proposing spirulina affordable for all and to make it a great daily consumption of food.

We found a manufacturer that produces Ecocert spirulina in a semi-desert steppe zone of Mongolia, on a plateau 3000 meters receiving over 3000 hours of sunshine a year, offering ideal production conditions.

The production area is remote from major urban centers, industries, roads and has a very pure atmosphere at altitude.

Production ponds are located in greenhouses to protect crops from insects, micro particles suspended in the air and dust carried by the wind.

The generous sunshine guarantees an adequate temperature in the greenhouse, with a wide temperature range day / night favorable to the growth of micro algae.

The work of Hélène Desmorieux, PhD student and researcher at LAGEP laboratory under the joint supervision of the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and CNRS showed that the best method of drying for optimum conservation of spirulina nutrients is the spray drying, recognized by Ecocert. This method allows rapid dehydration nebulization algae and preserving their nutritional qualities. (Freeze-drying is a superior method, but never used specifically for spirulina) .The direct drying method on shelves, commonly practiced in artisanal small structures in France and elsewhere have drawbacks related to the implementation period of drying. The Biovie Spirulina is dried by spray drying.
